BIO

AMEE VAN

Amee is an 18 year old filmmaker based in Sacramento, California. Her main focus in her work is to represent the human essence, whether that be through a short symbolic film or a documentary.

Amee was  trained at the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA), a month-long intensive film camp taught by L.A directors Frederick Thornton, Asuka Lin, and Charlie Schmidlin. She is thoroughly involved in her high school's broadcasting team as a producer and was the director of cinematography for Every 15 Minutes, a 30-minute film on the consequences of teen drunk driving.

Currently, Amee is a student at the University of Southern California looking to further her passion for filmmaking as a medium for highlighting social injustices and human life. Her focus lies in the healthcare industry, using film as a vessel to increase medical accessibility. She is majoring in biomedical engineering with a focus in medical imaging.

Outside of filmmaking, Amee also enjoys teaching violin to young students, visiting independent museums, seeking out the best cafes in the area, playing improv piano, experimenting with analog photography, and dancing (badly!).
